Hazrat Inayat Khan’s teachings come from the depth of an awakened heart. Despite the passage of time, his words maintain their potency. His eloquent expression of the most subtle and profound insights into the nature of life is relevant for every seeker at whatever stage, beginner or seasoned traveler.

Hazrat Inayat Khan left a large body of spiritual teachings. Since his death in 1927, his works have been published and republished in single volumes and multi-volume sets and are available in a variety of formats. Some of these are listed here:

The Sufi Message of Hazrat Inayat Khan: Centennial Edition, is the series that we most highly recommend. It is a superbly readable edition of the lectures given by Hazrat Inayat Khan. As stated in the introduction to the first volume of the Centennial Edition, “The aim of this series is to provide the full set of Hazrat’s best-known teachings in a form that balances fidelity to his original words, with sensitivity to the contemporary evolution of the English language.” New volumes in this series are published periodically. Individual volumes in this series can be purchased from Suluk Press.

The Sufi Message of Hazrat Inayat Khan, also known as the “Message Volumes” and affectionately known as the “orange volumes” by long-time students, was published in a multiple volume set in the 1960’s and is the most widely known version of Hazrat Inayat Khan’s teachings.

An online version of The Sufi Message, with a truly excellent search engine, can be found at Wahiduddin Online. We also urge you to sign up there to receive The Bowl of Saki, a daily email of sayings of Hazrat Inayat Khan with commentary.

Print versions of The Sufi Message are available from India from Motilal Banarsidass Publishers as well as online through Amazon and Abe Books.
